| This series of photos takes you along with us on the barge as we voyaged from Sète to Avignon. We started on the Canal du Rhône à Sète and were almost blocked from continuing to the Petit Rhône after several days of driving rain. When the river gets too high, they close the canel to prevent it from flooding. Knowing that we were trying to make it through, they waited for us and closed the flood gate just after we passed through. We then continued up the Petit Rhône to where it splits off from the Rhône River just north of Arles and then powered up the Rhône River to Avignon after a short stay in Arles. |
