| Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is a tourist town in the Camarque and is located on the Mediterranean Sea. We stopped there for lunch and were able to wander a while. This is reported to be the place where the three saints Mary Magdalene, Mary Salone and Mary Jacobe landed after having been cast adrift in the Mediterranean after the Crucifixion of Jesus. The town is an annual pilgrimage destination for the gypsies. |
