| Les Baux-de-Provence, founded as early as 6000 BC, is now a tourist village. It's perched on top of a rocky hill. We wandered the village and then went to a winery built inside an old quarry. After that, our guide treated us to an outstanding exhibit called the Cathedral of Images located in yet another old quarry. There, we enjoyed Vincent van Gogh paintings that were projected all around us on the various quarry walls, floors and ceilings. The images changed frequently and were accompanied by music. I think the looping show was about 45 minutes long. It was incredible. |
